Meet Our Students: About Me
My name is Kandra Clemens whom is currently a student at Purdue
University. I’m a self driven person who likes to keep my eyes on the
stars. I like to look forward not back. My family is the most
important thing to me. I like to be outdoors which include: hiking,
fishing, boating, biking, and birding. At this time I plan on becoming
an EMT and apply for nursing to further my education in the medical
field.

Hello, My name is Ali Shahid. I am a Business Analytics major at
Purdue University. Aside from school, I manage my family's gas
stations. I spend most of my time at the Gary, Indiana location and
have witnessed how lack of funding to school districts can impact children. I've also noticed how children with so much potential can take a turn for the worst due to their enviroment. My goal is to start impacting school districts in a positive way and begin to see how lunch debt is impacting our students. Later on life I want to make a change in school districts and erase the concerns of lunch shaming and lunch debt.

Hello. My name is Cassandra Eberle. I am a senior Communication major, specializing in Health Communication. Upon graduation, I hope to work within our communities to educate people on the importance of caring about one’s health. Aside from school, I am an avid fiction reader.

My name is Chris Arroyo. I am currently pursuing a marketing degree at Purdue University Northwest. I graduated from East Chicago Central in 2018. My interests include engines, cars, motorcycles and mechanics. When I'm not at school, I'm working part time in an upscale restaurant. During down time, I enjoy to ride my bikes if the weather is permitting.

My name is Jason Araujo, I'm currently a freshman at Purdue Northwest pursuing a computer science degree. I'm taking part in a social/community project our english class is having, which has to do with school lunch debts in Lake County and will help show our concern regarding the lunch debt. We intend on making people aware of this problem through different social media platforms, and will begin a GoFundMe page for lunch debt in Lake County School Districts.

Hello, my name is Kenneth De Ausen. I’m currently a freshman at Purdue University Northwest. I’m an accounting major with an intent to minor in entrepreneurship. On my off time, I like to hang out with friends and watch movies. My goal is to be raise money and awarness for lunch debt, and truly show society how much of a negative impact this matter is.

Although I was never a free lunch recipient, many of my childhood friends received it, making this issue one which hits close to home.

Hello, my name is Alaa Mroueh and I'm a freshman at PNW. I'm seeking a double major in Finance and Accounting. I graduated from Griffith Highschool where I am currently the head middle school basketball coach, and an assistant varsity basketball coach. My involvement in the community has made me very eager and involved when it comes to this project. I hope to see a positive impact in society at the conclusion of this project, which is what our class is striving for.

I'm a part of the social media group for our school lunch debt project and am in charge of the twitter account linked to it. I graduated last year from a school not too far from the campus, named Griffith, a town that I have been in my entire life. My favorite thing to do is  play basketball with my all my childhood friends beacause I cherrish those memories. And I hope one day my children are also able to grow up in an enviroment like the one I did.
